COWDENBEATH boss Dougie Hill wants his side to add victories to "some good football" that they've produced in recent games in their next Lowland League encounter.

On Friday evening, the Blue Brazil are on the road to face Heart of Midlothian B, on the back of an entertaining draw with Celtic B at Central Park at the weekend.

Jamie Docherty twice gave Hill's men the lead, only for their opponents to peg them back, and head to Ainslie Park on the back of an away trip to Broomhill last night (Tuesday).

Cowden were well worth their point against third-top Celtic B and, with the young Jambos one of three clubs only three points above them ahead of Tuesday's fixtures, a victory could move them further up the table.

"It was a really entertaining game with some cracking goals," Hill said of Saturday's clash with the Hoops.

"Celtic were probably the better side in terms of possession in the first half, but we still created some really good chances, while in the second period we created some very good openings and could have scored three or four.

"I was delighted for Jamie Docherty, who took his chances well and really could have had a hat-trick, and he also worked really hard tracking back to help our defensive work against a very useful side.

"We have produced some good football in the last three games, but we need to collect league points over the next three games to get ourselves into a mid-table position."

Hill is aware that Hearts B have had an awkward recent run and he is hopeful that the Blues, who have been scoring a few goals in recent matches, can keep up their marksmanship against them on Friday.

"Hearts have some good young players in their side but it is up to us to maintain the same sort of creative football we produced against Celtic, and also look to deny the Jambos opportunities as we seek a win,” he added.

"We really need to start stringing together runs of Lowland League victories which can propel us up several places in the table."

Hill has been heartened with the way that skipper Robbie McNab has adapted to a more attacking role in recent games, despite his wrist injury and will look to him to maintain this against Hearts.
