COWDENBEATH and Dundonald Bluebell have been handed home ties after the draw for the first round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup was made on Sunday.

The pair, alongside Hill of Beath Hawthorn, were all in the hat as they set their sights on sealing a place in round two.

Dougie Hill's Blue Brazil will entertain West of Scotland Football League First Division outfit Rutherglen Glencairn, who were 2-0 winners over Hutchison Vale in Preliminary Round Two.

They are currently second in their league, having won four and drawn two of their six fixtures, while Cowden sit 14th in the 18-team Lowland League, with one win and four draws from their first eight games.

East of Scotland Premier League Bluebell, who reached the first round with a 3-1 win over Edinburgh University, have been rewarded with a match against Highland League Inverurie Loco Works at Moorside Park.

The Haws, however, will again be on their travels, having won 8-0 at Fort William in the previous round.

They will face fellow East of Scotland Premier Division opponents, Tynecastle, with whom they played out a 1-1 draw last month on league business.

All three ties, in which both Cowden and Dundonald will be playing sides they have never met before, will be played on Saturday, September 28.
