MICHAEL TIDSER has praised summer signing Luke McCarvel and believes that he brings "something different" to his Kelty Hearts team.

The 20-year-old was one of a number of summer signings made by the New Central Park player / boss, coming in from Lowland League Cumbernauld Colts, and scored his first goal for the club in Saturday's draw at Dumbarton.

His fine individual effort, which saw him net after skipping beyond Michael Miller before getting the better of Craig McGuffie inside the penalty area, put Kelty ahead in a game that they were twice pegged back to ensure the spoils were shared.

Tidser was pleased to see McCarvel find the net, and said post-match: "He's been great. He's something different, Luke.

"I managed to get him from Cumbernauld Colts and it took him a wee bit of time. Then he picked up a wee injury because of the intensity he's probably not used to, but the goal he scores today is first class at any level.

"He's got really quick feet, he can just shift the ball really quickly, and he's been doing that since the day he came in the door.

"I'm really pleased for him in terms of the goal he scored, and even his work. He's starting to learn the game in terms of how we want him to play, and positions when the ball's in certain areas.

"I'm really pleased with Luke."
