GOAL hero Callum Flatman said he couldn't remember seeing the cross come into the box that led to his moment of glory against Hibernian.

The centre-back, who joined Kelty Hearts last month, headed home a stunning winner for Michael Tidser's team in their Premier Sports Cup Group C encounter on Saturday.

It was a memorable result for the League One outfit against their top flight opponents, and a moment to remember for Flatman, who moved to New Central Park after leaving the Hibees capital city rivals, Heart of Midlothian.

Speaking about his goal to Kelty Hearts TV, he said: "It was taken short - I wasn't even in the box yet!

"I can't even remember seeing the ball get fired across, and I just threw myself at it, and managed to get my head on it.

"It was tough. There was going to be a lot of defending. That's what we did, we fought for it, and I managed to get the goal in the end.

"It was good having all the fans there. It was the hardest game I've probably played in, and the best players I've played against, and it was a good performance from the boys."

His player / manager, Michael Tidser, said: "He's been great big Cal.

"When I signed him in the summer, I went and met him for a coffee and explained how I worked and how the club was.

"Obviously, he came off the back of what I'd probably say was a frustrating season for him at Edinburgh, where they were losing a lot of games, but I'd played against him and I knew that he's somebody I'd like to work with because he's committed, he's all-in, and I want to try and make him better.

"He's still a young lad. This is probably the biggest game of his career, and it's the same for a few out there, so I'm really happy for him, really proud.

"Again, he just needs to keep building on it, get a wee bit fitter, learn from Tam (O'Ware).

"Tam's been great beside him, and he'll be fine. He'll have a good season hopefully."
