COWDENBEATH's pre-season programme kicked-off with a closed-door game against Stenhousemuir.
The League Two champions welcomed Cowden to Ochilview and ran out 4-1 winners.
The Blue Brazil turned in a good first half performance against a Warriors side who are further ahead in their preparations, after goalless draws with Civil Service Strollers and Linlithgow Rose.
It was the Warriors who took the lead after 11 minutes when Matty Yates slotted home at the back post.
Cowden got back on level terms with 28 minutes gone when Sam Newman slotted home from close range and the Central Parker side enjoyed a good spell including Stenny keeper, Darren Jamieson, palming a Jamie Docherty free kick on to a post.
However, Ross Taylor restored the home sides lead with a shot from ten yards, and just short of the hour mark Yates got his second of the afternoon, before Adam Brown sealed a home win with an angled shot which the trialist got a touch to but was unable to keep the ball out of the net.
Cowdenbeath: Trialist, G MacPherson, Kerr, McLean, Jordan, McNab, McDonald, McLaughlin, Healy, Docherty, Newman. Subs: Dunsmore, Trialist, Trialist, Blair, Denham, Trialist.
