COWDENBEATH will have a special volunteer role next season for one of their stalwart fans.
For season 2024/25 a well-known supporter, Scott Southgate, will take up the voluntary post as the club's Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO).
The role is essentially to act as a bridge between the club and its supporters, via a two-way flow of information on topical issues.
Club secretary, David Allan, said: “The SLO’s role helps enhance communication between the fans and the club, eg, in respect of decisions made by the club or by putting forward the fans’ viewpoint in respect of any matters raised with him.
“The role of the SLO is to facilitate dialogue, not lead it. So the SLO works with all supporter groups, as well as individual fans.
“So if supporters have any issues that they wish to raise Scott can be your first point of contact.”
He added: “Scott’s appointment is targeted to help improve communication throughout the club, both internally and externally.
“The board of directors of Cowdenbeath FC wish Scott every success as he seeks to establish this new role for the benefit of our fans.
"Further details of how to get in touch with Scott will be issued shortly - albeit many will already know Scott well."
