SKIPPER Reece Lyon believes Kelty Hearts could be hitting form at the right time as they prepare for a promotion play-off showdown on Saturday.
The 24-year-old scored his eighth goal of the season in their 2-2 draw at champions Falkirk at the weekend, which leaves them three points outside the top four.
Montrose, who occupy that position and the final play-off place, visit New Central Park for their penultimate League One fixture of the season, with Cove Rangers in fifth, one place better off than Kelty.
A fascinating climax to a campaign that former Greenock Morton midfielder Lyon believes has already been a success for his team, who have won four and drawn one of their last six games.
"It's all to play for," he told Times Sport following the match at the Falkirk Stadium.
"Three or four weeks ago, we were looking behind us, worrying what was behind us about going down, so the last few weeks have been a positive. We're getting players back from injury so it's still all to play for.
"We've got Montrose next week so we'll go into it full of confidence and try to get the three points.
"That's us won our last two games before today and drew today. I think we've only lost two in seven, so it's coming together.
"The gaffer's done a great job. There were a few good players here last year that all left, and everything changed at the club. I don't think anybody expected us to be where we are.
"I felt as if people underestimated us and we've proved people wrong. I feel as if we've had a good season overall.
"I wasn't here last year, so I can't really speak on what went down. I just came in and have enjoyed every minute of it. It's been all positive since the get go.
"We had a rough patch, every team does, but we've come through the other end and we've surprised a few people."
Although a red card for Falkirk's Coll Donaldson, after 17 minutes, played its part, Kelty were impressive in taking the game to the champions, who are still unbeaten in League One this term.
Michael Tidser's men were particularly dominant in the second half, where only the woodwork, a clearance on the line and good goalkeeping prevented them from finding a winner.
"We had a few good chances in the first five minutes and then they go up and score," Lyon said.
"We found our feet again, but I feel as though every time we've played Falkirk, apart from the 5-1 game, we've competed well.
"We like coming to big teams and trying our best.
"I know they had 10 men and it's all good having possession, but we created a good few chances as well.
"Obviously we hit the bar, the boy had an unbelievable clearance off the line, the keeper had a few good saves, so we're pretty disappointed we've only come away with a point."
