THERE was more success for Cowdenbeath Bowling Club this past week, writes Jack High.

John Allan, Steven Hunter and Paul Jamieson played in the final of the West Fife Bowling Association championships on Saturday hoping to beat Dunfermline in the final to retain their Scotscastle Triples Trophy.

They got off to a slow start and were 6-2 down after five ends and then got back to level, traded a couple of shots then took control twin 8 out of nine ends to win 14-8.

All three played well throughout with loads of bowls in the area. Paul played a couple of running shots where he picked out shots. Well done.

At the same venue, a couple of rinks away, Alan Leishman, Peter Graham, Andy Johnstone and Robert McFarlane were also trying to defend their County Peace Trophy.

After a slow start they were 9-2 down after six ends, having lost a five and a three in consecutive ends. They got back to one down with three to play and one or two against them.

Robert had last bowl and trailed the jack about ten inches for a two to put them in front for the first time. They held on to be three up playing the last, lost a two and retained the trophy.
