THIS past week started on a high note for the Lochgelly Bowling Club as the Ladies won the Bowhill Triples competition.

The team consisted of Anne Bruce, Margo Mitchell and Isa Watson. They defeated Lochore in the final.

Jim McGuire and Val McGregor advanced in the Scottish mixed pairs competition and are now in the semi-final.

The Men's League Team travelled to Broad Street on Wednesday night. They came away on the short end of a 6-0 score. Two games went to last end deciders. The Ladies League game was cancelled this week.

Thursday saw three entries play the Fife Area Finals at Thornton.

The Single Hand, Roy Fox and the Triples of Steven Bowers, Alan Bowers and Jim McGuire both lost close battles with the Senior 4’s winning. The team of Jock Burt, Mick Connelly, Rob Wilson and Zeke Muir will now represent the Club at the Fife Finals at Buckhaven on July 2. The Ladies triples of Val McGregor, Liz Scott and Anne Bruce advanced in the East of Scotland with a 22-8 win over Lochore.

Friday was the start of the WFBA events and the Single Hand and the Senior Rink advanced to the next round.

Saturday was the Gilmour Competition.

The Club was represented at Auchtermuchty, Leslie and Ladybank. Two of the teams won by 4 shots while the third lost by one shot.

Next week sees the Club host the Mens League against Dalgety Bay and the Ladies League against Aberdour. Both games are on Wednesday starting at 6.30pm. Full complement of teams are also out on Friday in the WFBA competitions.
