COWDENBEATH FC can now confirm that following discussions with young striker Luke Armstrong it has been agreed that his contract will be cancelled by mutual consent with immediate effect.  

Manager Colin Nish said: "Luke leaves with our grateful thanks for all his efforts on behalf of the Blue Brazil.  

"We hope that he will now be able to secure a new deal with a club closer to home to advance his playing career".

Luke was signed in July after some promising appearances and goalscoring exploits in pre-season friendlies.

But with Gordon Smith and top scorer Greig Spence holding down the striking roles his opportunities in the first team were limited.
