HAS anyone noticed the the blatant bias, from the obviously English BBC News against us Scots. Its the British Broadcasting Corporation. Are Scots not British?
Its went on for years. When Scotland beat England at Wembley (football) and our own Jim Baxter sat on the ball making fools of them, Scots supporters by way of celebration, took the goalposts and bits of turf.
The BBC report? 'Scots Hooligans!' I don't think it was a coincidence it was the last match between the two. Before that it was every year.
When Andy Murray wins he is British. When he loses he is Scots.
Recently the England women's rugby team beat the Scots' team (women). It wasn't enough for the BBC to say they beat them, I quote 'they thrashed' the Scots.
Yet before that when Scotland beat England at cricket the BBC could have fitted it onto a postage stamp. So a lot of people didn't know about it. Howzatt!
Their views seem to echo Edward Longshanks, the English King in Braveheart, who said, 'The only thing wrong with Scotland is it is full of Scots'
It is not just the BBC, but the English in general. A third of them think Scots bank notes are fake.
We used to go down there twice a year for karate contests. The first time they were waiting for us coming off the team bus. 'Hello Jocks where is the kilts and haggis.' On the floor their whole demeanor was we will be home for tea.
It was five man teams. The numty in number five position was lying down, kidding on he was sleeping, which showed a lack of respect.
We were standing with the steam coming out of our ears. Well they were home tea. We went through them like a doze of salts! Not just that time but every time.
They could not understand it, the words complacent and over confident spring to mind.
The BBC weather people. The map. They have erased the name of Kirkwall off the map. Uist has never been on it. Erase Scotland?
And they drone on and on.We do not want to know about high or low pressure etc, we just want to know what the weather will be. Come back Michael Fish. 'Hello, in Michael Fish the weather's PXXH. Cheerio'.More on the BBC next time.
BILL BISHOP,
Ballingry.
