Dear sir,
I want the money that I pay on road tax used for maintaining the roads, not squandered on more cycle lanes.
I fully agree that all road users should be paying road tax and insurance, the fact that cyclists get away without doing so is a disgrace, particularly as many of them seem to labour under the illusion that they have ownage of the road.
Police Scotland are putting plain clothes officers out on bikes, and if they deem that a motorist passes too close to them they'll be issued with a fine, and have three points put on their licence.
Is this not entrapment?
Hopefully the same vigilance will be accorded to those riding on pavements and ignoring designated cycle lanes.
That way those cyclists who flout pedestrian rights can also be suitably punished, rather than us motorists once again being an easy target.
Yours, Eric Travers
