A KELTY man who "suffered serious trauma" at the hands of his Grindr date who attacked him in his own home, has shared details of his assault.

Conner Burdett, 21, had matched with 31-year-old Dean Slessor on the app, had been chatting with him for a couple of months and had met up with him before with no issues.

But on January 6 last year, Conner and Slessor's date became a nightmare, when Slessor refused to let Conner leave the flat and assaulted him.

Conner told the Press: "I wanted to leave to go elsewhere and he got angry and locked me in the flat. [He] started punching my head from behind.

"I fell and he was on top of me, strangling me with his full strength. I bit his pinky to get him off and he picked me up while I was dazed and bent my pinky right back, to the point where it broke and caused permanent damage."

Over the course of four hours, Conner was held captive and beaten.

He continued: "At one point, I tried to get up to try and jump out onto another balcony."

In an effort to keep Conner inside the property, Slessor confiscated his phone. Luckily, Conner was able to access his iPad and send a message to his friends who then contacted the Police.

"Police came and I collapsed from shock as the door was opened," he said.

Slessor has since been found guilty following a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and was sentenced to a year in prison.

While the trial is over, Conner is still affected by the attack and is traumatised by what was done to him

"I suffered serious trauma," he added. "I am still, to this day, physically sick when I think of what happened."

As Slessor appeared for sentencing this week the court heard that at Netherton Gardens, Kelty on January 6, Slessor abducted Conner, seized him by the body to prevent him leaving and detained him against his will.

He also assaulted him by repeatedly punching him on the head, repeatedly seized him by the body and dragged him, seized him by the throat and compressed it, restricting his breathing, to his injury.

Slessor was jailed for a year at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
