BACON rolls are on the menu in Cowdenbeath with a new hot food takeaway given the go-ahead.

Andrew Forrester, of D & F Stores on Dalbeath Crescent, will also sell burgers, soup and hot drinks.

He applied to change the use from a newsagents and convenience store to include a hot food takeaway and Fife Council have now granted the request.

The plans include a ventilation system with an extractor hood and extra equipment to be used is a grill plate, soup kettle, bain marie, kettle and coffee machine.

A council planning report said that given "only part of the subjects would be used as a hot food takeaway, the proposal stands to be considered acceptable".

It will be takeaway only and no seating will be added to the store.
