A CHARITY football match has kicked off fundraising for a new sleigh for Santa Benarty.
Locals of all ages got together at the Lochore Welfare Football Park on Sunday, October 27, for a fundraising event which saw a friendly match take place as well as a raffle and a show afterwards.
Kevin Mclean told the Times: "Santa Benarty is raising funds for a new sleigh as the current one is at the end of its life and this will be the last year with the old one.
"We are doing a few fundraising events to help raise money and we are appealing to the public to help us as much as they can."
The group are hoping to raise £10,000 to replace the sleigh and as well as hosting fundraising events, they have also set up a JustGiving page.
Kevin continued: "We would like to thank the Lochore Welfare for letting us use their park, especially John and Michele Kirkland for their help on the day. It was a great turnout from the public.
"We have had a fantastic response from the local community and further afield with donations to the build and raffle prizes being handed in. So we would like to say a massive thank you to all of these individuals, companies and organisations that have helped us so far."
