A 20-year-old man who assaulted his dad has been ordered to do unpaid work.

Jack Hogg, of Provost Mill Way, Kelty, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

Hogg was drunk after spending the day in a pub before the offences, the court heard.

He admitted that on March 22 at Park Road West, Rosyth, he made offensive remarks toward his father, made threats of violence, including threats to slit his throat and challenged him to fight.

He also assaulted his dad by throwing punches towards him.

Sheriff Garry Sutherland told Hogg: “This was pretty despicable behaviour.”

He imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work.

He also advised him: “Stay away from alcohol because clearly it’s not good for you.”
