A COWDENBEATH man has been fined after taking his former partner’s phone from her and later sending her abusive messages.

Finlay Dixon, 21, of Johnston Park, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on April 25 at Cowdenbeath Baptist Church he stole a mobile phone.

He also sent a voicemail and a text message to his former partner which were abusive and derogatory.

He also admitted that on May 12 at Woodside, Cowdenbeath, he damaged property by slamming a door, causing the handle to break.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the first incident began when there was an argument outside a church between Dixon and his partner, which led to him taking her phone and driving off with it.

The girl got the phone back from him later but he then sent a message to her saying, “Fat f****** slag. I hope you drop dead.”

Defence solicitor Amy Harley said, “Clearly the relationship between them was unhealthy and it was a toxic environment with both of them being immature.

“He took the phone simply to annoy her.”

Sheriff Allan Findlay fined Dixon £370 and warned him, “You stay away from this lassie, do you hear me?”
