Armed police are searching for a man who is believed to be carrying a weapon in Crosshill.
Reports on social media told of a man who was wielding a 'machete' and trying to enter a property in Benarty Avenue this morning.
Police have confirmed that they are currently searching the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 7.10 am on Thursday, 17 October, 2024, police received a report of a man in possession of a weapon, causing a disturbance outside a property in Benarty Avenue, Crosshill.
"Officers are in attendance and a search of the area is underway. There are no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing."
As investigations continue, Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
They added: "Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around this time who may have witnessed the incident."
