A LOCHORE man who was caught driving again when banned has been put on a ‘tag’ for eight months.
Thomas Torrance, 35, of New Flockhouse, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on May 3 at New Flockhouse, he drove when disqualified.
The court heard Torrance is already on a community payback order with unpaid work.
Defence solicitor Amy Harley noted a recommendation in the social work report that sentence should be deferred for good behaviour.
“No chance” said Sheriff Allan Findlay.
He pointed out it was Torrance’s second such offence in a year and his normal practice would be to impose a jail sentence.
Instead, he put Torrance on an eight-month restriction of liberty order and banned him from driving for four years.
He warned Torrance, “If you breach the order you’re getting the jail.”
