Lochore Meadows Country Park has announced a major new project.
The popular ‘Fairy Woods’ attraction has closed for the winter and a new attraction is in the offing.
The park posted on Facebook: “We have been working with Friends of Lochore Meadows and The Fairy Woods community group on an exciting project that will see the Fairy Woods attraction becoming part of a wider educational woodland walk for young people in Chapel Chase Woods.
“Working with a variety of partners including Rural Skills Scotland, Outdoor Education and local community and school groups, we aim to create an educational woodland walk that will provide an outdoor experience for young people that integrates nature, education, and adventure.
“Young people can explore, discover, and learn about the wonders of the natural world in a fun and engaging way.
"The educational walk will include a new storytelling area for nurseries and young minds along with den building areas, finger mazes, sculptures, nature trails and educational stations.
“As part of the project we will also be upgrading/improving the paths including construction of a new boardwalk. We will also be relocation the fairy wood arch and sculpture seats and integrating them into the trail.”

Fairy doors and signs that are in good condition will be removed and then put back into the new site closer to the time of the project’s completion.
Funding for the project was secured through Fife Council’s shared prosperity fund, and is just one of the many projects taking place over the winter.
In addition, the park is now recruiting two modern apprentices to join their Estates Team.
Funded by Fife Council’s Workforce Youth Investment (WYI) fund, they aim to help those aged 16-24 gain employment by creating additional opportunities.
These posts are supported by Skills Development Scotland, Fife Councils Modern Apprentice & WYI Teams along with Communities & Neighbourhoods Service.
These posts will be over two years and are aimed at those from Fife aged between 16 and 24. The apprentices will undertake training towards an SVQ2 in Environmental Conservation which will set them on their way in a career in a variety of roles.
Those interested can apply online on Fife Council’s website before the closing date of Tuesday, October 15.
