MICHAEL Nardone came home to Ballingry for an event in the Benarty Community Shop where he gave an insight into his life as an actor.
The 57-year-old, who is from the village, has starred in TV shows such as The Night Manager and Line of of Duty, as well as appearing in numerous films including blockbusters Dune and Star Wars prequel Rogue One.
Michael spoke about his upbringing in Ballingry, how it shaped him and inspired him to take up acting, followed by a Q&A.
The shop's assistant manager, Carol Murphy, said: "Michael was tremendous, he answered every question openly and honestly and gave us an insight into everything from working with the late Robin Williams to how it feels when the role you've played ends up on the cutting room floor."
The actor also told the audience who he liked working with the most and spoke about the new series of the Night Manager, where he will reprise his role as hardman bodyguard Frisky, which will be aired next year.
In the theatre Michael has played Macbeth, featured in King Lear and Gregory Burke's acclaimed play, The Black Watch, on the big screen he's been in blockbusters such as Dune and Rogue One, as well we Being Human with Robin Williams and the re-make of Whisky Galore.
On TV Michael has taken on roles in everything from Rome to Shetland, as well as the likes of Taggart, River City, The Bill, Midsomer Murders, Silent Witness and Guilt.
Benarty Community Shop manager, Lorna Gallagher, said: "It was fantastic that Michael gave up some time from his busy schedule to come along to the shop, and I am most grateful to him for that."
She added that the shop will have a varied programme of events over the coming months, such as Christmas wreath making and improving your photography.
