A Cardenden man attacked his noisy neighbour with a baseball bat when he would not turn down loud music.
The assailant was 42-year-old John Dunsire, of Hyndloup Terrace, who has appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on 3rd July at Hyndloup Terrace he assaulted a man by repeatedly striking him on the body with a baseball bat.
He also admitted he was unlawfully in possession of an offensive weapon.
The court was told the incident followed a row between Dunsire and a neighbour, who had been a friend up to that point but was playing loud music.
Dunsire complained about the racket but the man would not turn the music down which led to the confrontation.
When the neighbour saw Dunsire brandishing a baseball bat, he asked: “What’s that for?”
Dunsire replied: “To do you in”, lunged forward and started hitting the man with the bat.
Defence solicitor David Bell said: “They’re normally quite good friends and they continue to speak to each other.
“He had been playing music loudly throughout the day which did not bother Mr Dunsire too much until it got later on and he refused to turn it down.”
Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane imposed a three-month restriction of liberty order.
