A BALLINGRY man has spoken of turning his life around from "heroin to hero" at the latest event at the Benarty Community Shop.
Paul Boggie delivered a talk to growing up in Edinburgh and how drug taking led him into a dark world of substance abuse and despair.
He managed to turn his life around and has penned two books, author of “Heroin to Hero” and “Final Mission Heroin to Hero" and now speaks to audiences across the country on drug addiction.
The talk was made possible thanks to funding provided through Fife Voluntary Action.

Organiser Carol Murphy said: "Paul gave a warts and all talk about his drug addiction and followed this with an audience question and answer session which the audience found intriguing and, at times, funny.”
Benarty Community Forum Chairperson, Michael Payne, added: “At first, I was taken aback by Paul’s honesty and openness and how his heroin addiction almost led to his death.
"It certainly was an eye opener for me.”
Paul answered questions on how drug abuse effected his relationship with his parents and other close family members and how he now spends a lot of his time giving talks in schools and prisons.
