ORGANISERS of the Rockore Festival have declared the 2024 event as "the best ever".

Around 4,000 people turned up at Lochore Meadows Country Park to enjoy a day of music from a range of bands - despite fears that poor weather could ruin plans.

The festival kicked off at noon with seasoned entertainers Instant Credit, followed by The Ultimate Rock Show, the Gerry Cinna-Man Experience, QFX and London showband Massaoke.

It was then time for Scottish legends The Bay City Rollers who were followed by Kyle Falconer of the View and headliner Suzi Quatro.

Organiser Eddie Easson said the day was a great success.

"Once again, Rockore wasn’t possible without our Barmy Army of volunteers," he said.

"A few of them told me it was their fifth Rockore and some have still to see a band! They are either at the entrance or behind the bar. This is real commitment to the Benarty area.

"A special mention goes out to Andy McGrath and his Meedies staff, also Brian Robertson Fern at BRAG for the fantastic help with vehicles and equipment. Brian was there for three days solid."

However, Eddie admitted that there were some issues on the day.

"Sadly not everyone is blessed with the community spirit," he admitted. "A wee mention to the guys who decided they would steal from the community when they broke into one of Rockore’s chillers and help themselves to the contents.

"People don’t seem to realise that when they jump over the fence to get in or smuggle drink into the event, they are affecting the events the group put on. All monies raised goes straight back into events in the Benarty area.

“The Benarty Events Group would like to thank everyone who attended the festival, also to all our helpers. So now it's onwards to Rockore 2025."
