THE Robert Smith Court Garden Party in Lumphinnans saw the sun shine but a strong wind posed challenges for the big turn-out.
This was the RSC Community Group’s fifth annual garden party, and of all the previous years’ the organising committee felt more confident about the weather this year.
Mark Davies, from the community group, said: “It was blustery and it did test our gazebo erection skills - but it stayed dry with quite a lot of sunshine!”
Live entertainment was provided by Jade Hannah, the second time the group has used her and she has never disappointed the Lumphinnans villagers.

Mark added: “We had Evelyn, Tony and Lynn running the BBQ stand chucking out burgers and hot dogs like there was no tomorrow. And the bouncy castle was put to good use by the many kids who turned up.
“Councillor Mary Lockhart again gave us the honour of her company. Mary has been a real stalwart to us and supported us so well over the years. We owe her a real debt of gratitude for all she has done.
“We would also like to again thank Lumphinnans Community Bowling Club for use of their toilet facilities - and for their enduring support to our community. They are such great neighbours to have!”
He concluded: “This was another good event that showcased the great and vibrant community that we are.
“We started this group in 2018, and despite challenges along the way, we are still going strong. We are proud of what we have achieved together.
“We have a committed bunch of folks on our community group committee; and a small army of volunteers that allows us to put on such events. A lot of planning goes into running an event like this, and we need that support.
“But the biggest shout out goes to our great community for supporting our work and making the difference that we have made.
"Together, we continue to make Robert Smith Court a great and safe place to live - and the pride of Lumphinnans village!”
