A FEMALE singer suffered a broken nose after being punched by a drunken thug in a Cowdenbeath pub.

Back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was 38-year-old Aaron Kyle, formerly of Kelty and Lochgelly, now living in East Quality Street, Dysart.

He admitted that on October 27 last year at Partners, High Street, Cowdenbeath, he assaulted a woman by punching her to the head to her severe injury.

Depute fiscal Annie Henderson said the victim was at the bar to provide entertainment as a singer and did not know Kyle.

He had come into the bar heavily intoxicated and was being encouraged to leave the premises when he punched the woman on the bridge of her nose.

There was blood over her face, Kyle left and was found nearby by police.

When cautioned and charged he responded, “**** you”.

The victim sustained a fractured nose, which was straightened at the hospital.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said, “He doesn’t have a great recollection of it. It had been his birthday the day before. He had been celebrating and consumed too much alcohol.”

Sheriff Neil Kinnear imposed a six-month restriction of liberty order.

Kyle was also told to pay the victim £200 compensation.
