A Ballingry man who caused a disturbance and claimed he was armed with a knife has appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

James Irvine, 48, of Kildownie Crescent, committed the offence on 25th January at an address in the village and at his home.

He shouted, swore, challenged others to fight, said he had armed himself with a knife, made abusive comments and placed two police officers in fear and alarm.

Irvine appeared from custody as a result of a warrant being granted when he failed to turn up in court in May.

He had previously admitted the offence.

Sheriff Krista Johnston deferred sentencing for reports until 21st August.
