A SPECIALIST asset management company is applying to construct and operate a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) next to Mossmorran.
Gresham House Devco Pipeline Ltd want to construct and operate the BESS with associated access and infrastructure on land near Auchtertool, to the east of Shell's Fife NGL plant and ExxonMobil's Fife Ethylene Plant.
The capacity of the system - which is designed to store energy from renewables, like solar and wind, and release it to the national grid at times when customers need power the most - would be up to 300 megawatts.

Objections to the application can be submitted to Scottish ministers by emailing representations@gov.scot or through the post to Scottish Goverment Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU.
