A PERSON had to be rescued after getting stuck in mud near Cowdenbeath on Monday evening.
Fire crews – including two specialist water rescue units – were called shortly before 6.30pm.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.23pm on Monday, July 22 to reports of a person in difficulty between the A909 and the A92, near Cowdenbeath.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and two specialist water rescue units to the scene, where crews assisted one person to safety after they had become trapped in mud.
“The individual did not require further treatment and crews left the scene shortly after.”
