THROUGHOUT the school holidays, a Ballingry shop will be offering free fruit to primary school-aged kids.
Avens on Benarty Square has taken on the Healthy Living Programme's initiative and is giving away one free piece of fruit per child per day.
A spokesperson for the store, which recently underwent a rebrand from Nisa to Avens, said: "We want to promote healthy eating among kids and help in our own community.
"We understand food costs have been on the rise in recent times and we wanted to do our bit to help local kids and schools.
"We decided to roll this out over the summer holidays so far but are looking to help more in our local schools after this period.
"We encourage everyone to pop in for their free fruit and have a lovely summer holiday, from your local Avens team."
