"TRAILBLAZERS" from Lochgelly High have been praised in the Scottish Parliament.
Cowdenbeath MSP Annabelle Ewing highlighted the “pivotal role” being played by the school, the Purvis Group and Babcock, among others, in the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) programme.
Ms Ewing made the comments during an exchange with the Minister for Higher and Further Education, Graeme Dey MSP, at Holyrood.
“In asking the minister about the Developing the Young Workforce Programme, I was pleased to be able to highlight the pivotal role that Lochgelly High School, the Purvis Group and Babcock, among others, have played as trailblazers in facilitating vocational training for young people," she said.

“I was very pleased to hear the minister describe DYW as playing a crucial role in ensuring that school leavers are supported to achieve their potential and that the Scottish Government remains committed to the DYW programme, with £12.9 million being invested in 2024-25 to fund regional groups and school co-ordinators.
“Mr Dey agreed with me that there is more to do to embed DYW into our offering for young people as they consider their future career paths.
"He described DYW as an important pillar of the improved wider careers offering being made available to young people as we seek to ensure that ensure that all that can be done is being done to provide young people with a route into skilled and well-paid jobs.”
