AN AFTERNOON tea to mark National Volunteers Week was served up by Fife Day Care Services.

The organisation invited its volunteers – and Sky employees who regularly help – along to their Lumphinnans centre to say thank you for all their efforts.

Fife Day Care Services is a registered charity, providing Active Ageing Day Centre support to older people who attend for social interaction, activities and a nutritious lunch, in a safe, comfortable and supported environment.

Manager Carol Reddington said they were grateful for those who give their time to come and support their work.

"We have a small team of six staff so we value and appreciate our team of volunteers who help the staff out in supporting our service users every day," she said.

"We have a team of 10 regular volunteers, but we are also fortunate to have a fantastic partnership with Sky Time to Care Community Team, who send employees in from their Dunfermline base each week. They allow employees time off from their work to come in and help out at the centre.

"We have fostered an excellent relationship with Sky and benefit from it immensely. Not only do they send in volunteers, but they have also been extremely generous in donations and days out, it is a partnership that we appreciate and hope continues."

Carol explained that Sky workers stated to offer support just before the pandemic.

She added: "National Volunteer Week was an excellent opportunity to host a thank you tea, showing how grateful we are for all our amazing volunteers and the invaluable help they give us each and every week and to highlight and celebrate the amazing team at Sky Time to Care."
