A COMMEMORATIVE plaque has been unveiled at Fife Cycle Park in Lochgelly.
It was presented to celebrate the Kingdom's participation in last year's UCI Cycling World Championships, one of the most prestigious competitions in the sport.
The plaque also highlights the success of local community cycling initiatives.
Councillor Linda Erskine, spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, said: "On behalf of Fife Council, I am thrilled to celebrate the unveiling of this commemorative plaque at Fife Cycle Park, marking our participation in the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
"This event not only commemorates our past successes but also shines a light on the vibrant future of cycling within our community."

Members of the Meedies Bike Club were at the presentation and were awarded their ClubFife accreditation, recognizing their commitment to fostering a vibrant cycling community.
Throughout 2023, Fife Council and local cycling clubs ran a series of events known as the Kingdom Crits, offering children and families the opportunity to engage in various cycling disciplines, including road cycling, mountain biking, speedway and cyclocross.
On the day of the Men's Elite Road Race, many cycling clubs from across Fife lined the streets to cheer on riders pedalling at top speed through Rosyth, Torryburn, Newmills, Low Valleyfield, Culross and Kincardine, and kids enjoyed a free cycling session on the greenspace in Culross.
Cllr Erskine continued: "I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the Kingdom Crits events throughout 2023. These events provided children and families with wonderful opportunities to engage in various cycling activities.
"Congratulations to The Meedies bike club for earning their ClubFife accreditation, demonstrating their dedication to fostering a thriving cycling community in Fife."
