SCHOOLS from across the east of the country gathered at Fife Cycle Park last week to take part in the Scottish Electric Chariot Championships.
Lochgelly High hosted the event with primary and secondary pupils from Fife, Edinburgh and the Borders taking part.
Design and technology teacher Ewan McDougall said participants competed in Goblin and F24 Races.
"We had over 80 young people in attendance and 12 different cars on the track," he said.
"Each driver made an attempt at setting the fastest lap before a prizegiving in the afternoon, with trophies courtesy of the Jim Clark Trust.

"The whole event was free to all participating schools due to a generous donation by Amazon UK, who are currently partnered with our school.
"We have had positive feedback after the event and the day was enjoyed by all of our young people. We are beginning to plan ahead for next year and welcome contact from any interested schools."
