THERE'S major disruption to rail services after a person was "hit by a train" between Edinburgh and Inverkeithing.
All lines between the two stations have been closed and services are not running whilst emergency services are at the scene.
This has affected Fife Circle trains as well as CrossCountry and LNER trains.
National Rail said: "A person has been hit by a train between Edinburgh and Inverkeithing.
"Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
"Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised until approximately 10pm."
They added: "Tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach buses between Fife and Dundee until 10pm.
"This is not available between Inverkeithing and Edinburgh.
"There is a rail replacement service operated by ARay at Edinburgh Waverley expected at 9pm.
"Due to very limited replacement road transport being secured, passengers are advised to consider making their own arrangements."
National Rail said ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Cowdenbeath / Dundee / Glenrothes with Thornton / Perth, also Edinburgh circular services would be affected.
CrossCountry services between Edinburgh / Plymouth and Aberdeen and LNER services between Leeds / London Kings Cross and Aberdeen are also affected.
