A BUILDING firm who had been due to build more than 200 affordable homes for Fife Council has collapsed.
Liquidators have been appointed for First Endeavour LLP who, back in March, had their contracts "regrettably cancelled" by the local authority.
They had been due to deliver sites in Dunfermline, Lochore, Lumphinnans and Kirkcaldy but work halted in December and the council confirmed earlier this year that they had "secured control" of the sites.
A winding up order went before Dunfermline Sheriff Court earlier this month after the firm was unable to pay £120,000 of debt to Breedon Trading Limited, a building supplies firm.

Begbies Traynor in Edinburgh have now been appointed as liquidator.
A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Ken Pattullo and Kenny Craig of Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint interim liquidators of First Endeavour LLP and are currently investigating its financial affairs.
"If any party wishes to bring something to the attention of the joint interim liquidators they should get in contact with the firm’s Edinburgh office on 0131 222 9060 or email edinburgh@btguk.com.”
Earlier this month the council said they had "found a developer" for the site in Kirkcaldy.
This week they said the site will be completed by their building services while the other three sites are being formally tendered at the end of May.
