IT'S READY, steady, go as the Meedies Running Club warm up for their annual charity relay race.
The event, which last year saw a whopping £1,200 raised for the local schools and nurseries, returns to Lochore Meadows Country Park on Friday, July 5 at 7pm, through to Saturday, July 6 at 7pm.
The event has been running for quite a few years and thousands of pounds has been raised for charities and local causes. Not only do they raise funds, but they also collect food and toiletries for local food provision which is then distributed throughout the community.
The relay is open to everyone and participants can run, walk or jog a 5K, depending on their ability. Finishers' medals will be presented to everyone taking part.
As part of the event, there will be an entry option of a Single Distance Championship and a Team (of 6) Relay Championship.
The start line will be adjacent to the Willie Clarke Centre on the grass area beside the main car park.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available at all times courtesy of the Meedies Running Club members.
There will be a gazebo tent for shelter if required and space to store your bags and belongings and there will be a BBQ at certain times with minimum costs.
Children taking part must be accompanied by an adult, kids in buggies will be admitted free of charge. Canicross runners are also welcome to partake.
Entry into the event is £12, you can sign up before the event here, or simply head along on the day and pay in cash.
Organised entirely by volunteers, email Meedies.runningclub@outlook.com for more information.
