A Cowdenbeath man has been fined for sending a threatening message to his former wife.
Andrew Thomson, 51, of Park Street, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on February 24 he sent a message to his former partner via Facebook in which he made threats of violence.
Depute fiscal Andrew Brown said the couple had been married for 23 years but were now separated.
The message included “Say your goodbyes to our grandkids” and “I’m going to put you down where mum and dad are”.
When charged by police, he commented: “Sorry, it was drunken stupidity”.
Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said: “He had been drinking. He realised almost immediately how stupid it was.”
He said his client had deleted the message but by then someone had taken a screenshot of it and passed it on.
“He’s remorseful and very annoyed with himself,” he added.
Sheriff Garry Sutherland commented: “It was certainly stupid.”
He fined Thomson £320 and imposed a two-year non-harassment order.
