FIREFIGHTERS had to put out a wheelie bin fire near a Cowdenbeath care home last night.
Emergency services raced to Broad Street, close to the Broad Street Respite Care Unit, just after 8.30pm after initial reports of bushes being on fire.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.36pm on Thursday, April 25 to reports of trees and bushes on fire near to Broad Street, Cowdenbeath.

“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a wheelie bin.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
