THANKS to a £2 million investment in Lochgelly a new business centre is set to be built on The Avenue.
Fife Council’s Economic Development Team announced the sale of the two-acre plot of land at The Avenue, to Easy Living Developments, a Glenrothes-based design and build construction company.
This development represents a £2 million investment by Easy Living Developments, who have been on site on The Avenue for years building 168 two-to-five-bedroom homes, and will see the construction of a brand-new Business Centre featuring sixteen modern units.
Pamela Stevenson, service manager for Economic Development, Fife Council, said: "We are delighted to welcome Easy Living Developments to Lochgelly and support this significant investment.
"This new Business Centre aligns perfectly with our economic development strategy for Fife, fostering a vibrant business environment and creating valuable employment opportunities for the local community."
Located within the existing Lochgelly Industrial Park, the Centre is designed to attract a mix of light industrial Class 4, 5 and 6 occupiers and is expected to be completed by the end of the year with construction set to begin in the next few months.
The units will vary in size from approximately 1,000 sq. ft to 1,500 sq. ft. with the opportunity to combine individual units to create larger ones by not including party walls, thereby creating a facility capable of accommodating numerous different businesses.
The units will also have an insulated cladding external wall and roof structure with the Centre also enjoying an EV charging point to facilitate the growing use of electric vehicles.
Keith Davidson, Chief Executive Officer, Easy Living Developments expressed delight at the conclusion of the planning process resulting in the purchase of the land from Fife Council.
He said: “The new Business Centre will offer exciting opportunities for local businesses, providing them with modern, flexible workspaces.
"We are also very hopeful that the new centre will attract a diverse range of businesses and create new jobs in the area and in doing so contribute to the continued economic growth of Lochgelly and the surrounding area.
"Further details of the opportunities will soon be available from the new developments' sales and managing agents, Andrew Reilly Associates.”
