A book by a local author has now raised £1,400 for 15 different good causes.
As previously reported in the Times, George MacPherson wrote ‘Tall Tales Fae’ The Haw an’ Beyond’, which is a collection of 90 short stories about growing up in the Cooper Ha’ housing scheme.
George has since been inundated with requests to purchase the book. The total amount going to charities is now £1,400. This figure will increase significantly upon the sale of the next batch of books.
Cowdenbeath MSP Anabelle Ewing has also tabled a Scottish Parliamentary motion to acknowledge the good works.

One of the organisations to benefit from the funds raised by George's book is Home-Start, a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through challenging times.
Tracy McCann, from Home-Start, said: "This donation will go towards our Summer Holiday Family Bus Trip. Thank you for not only the donation but the belly laughs reading your posts on Facebook. If that's just a taster of what's in the book we cannot wait to read it!”
