A CARDENDEN-based mother and toddler playgroup celebrated Burns Night for the first time.
The children enjoyed a traditional lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties as well as Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and Milky Bars and a performance from local piper, Kieran Roberts, on Tuesday, January 22.
Cllr Rosemary Liewald attended the event and she told the Times: "That mother and toddler group is a terrific group.
"The morning was just lovely. They managed to get a terrific lad who is a local dad to come along. He's a piper based at Leuchars and it was a horrendous morning but Kieran, believe it or not, stood outside in the rain and piped.
"He then came in and let the children come and look at what a set of pipes actually is, which was really nice as a wee bit of hands-on stuff.
"It was really nice and they all sat beautifully for him."
