Overnight closures of a section of a main road through Lochgelly to allow for bridge repairs have been postponed until next month.
Station Road will now be closed from its junction with Stationhead Road to the junction at Colquhally Road overnight between 10pm and 6am from Saturday, February 10, until Friday, April 26, or earlier if the works have been completed.
An initial council notice indicated the closures would begin tonight (Monday, January 15) and continue until Thursday, January 18; but this was then updated with the closures continuing from tonight until March 29.
However, the start of the works has now been pushed back.
When the overnight closures do come into effect, the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Station Road, Auchterderran Road, Jamphlars Road, Woodend Road, Kinglassie Road, B9097, B920, Lochleven Road, Main Street and Main Road.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained.
The closure is to enable repairs to the bridge carrying the railway line to be carried out safely.
