GREEN spaces in Lochore Meadows Country Park have been left damaged by quad bikes.
The park has hit out at the anti-social behaviour that left deep tyre tread marks on the grassy areas of the Meadows.
Sharing their disappointment on Facebook, the Lochore Meadows Country Park group wrote: "Unfortunately there has been a lot of damage to areas of green space in the country park over the last number of nights due to anti-social behaviour by quad bikers.
"Whilst we understand the thrill of dirt bikes and quad bikes for some, the country park is not the place to undertake such activities, particularly when it causes damage to the surface that we spend a lot of time trying to look after for everyone's enjoyment.
"Illegal use of quads and dirt bikes in the park is also a health and safety concern for other park users."
Images shared by the park show multiple 'doughnuts' left in the green spaces throughout the park, torn-up grass and mucky tyre marks.
Andy McGrath, Lochore Meadows Park Manager said: "We have a team of dedicated workers and volunteers who put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that Lochore Meadows always looks great and continues to be one of Fife's top attractions. It is really disappointing to see all this hard work ruined by some thoughtless individuals.
"We understand that quad biking is very popular but there are places where people can enjoy this sport without causing this kind of damage.
"The matter has been reported to Police Scotland but I'd like to ask anyone who has any information on this incident, or any others in or around the park, to please contact Police Scotland on 101."
In response to the incident, Police are urging people to act responsibly and report anti-social behaviour.
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “We are aware of concerns about the anti-social use of off-road vehicles at Lochore Country Park and fully understand the disruptive effect this has on the park and the local community.
“We would urge people to act responsibly and if anyone has concerns or information about anti-social behaviour please contact police.”
