A 32-year-old man has appeared in court accused of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision in Cowdenbeath High Street which resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

Darren McPhee appeared in private on petition at Dunfermline Sheriff Court this afternoon (Monday, September 18).

McPhee, from Cowdenbeath, faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report it.

He made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He is expected to make his next court appearance within eight days.

A 46-year-old man died following the collision at 8.30pm on Thursday night.
