AN extension to a building at Woodend Industrial Estate in Cowdenbeath was built without planning permission.
A retrospective application has now been submitted by Patterson Diesel Ltd, who share premises with the Fife Van Centre at unit 1a, block 8.
The company hadn't realised consent was needed to extend warehouse units 2-4, at block 6, and instal doors and rooflights.

The application said they thought the new single storey industrial building would be allowed under "permitted development" but added: "The property extension is over the limits of permitted development and therefore we would like to apply for permission."
They extended and altered the warehouse, to create three storage units, with the council calculating the gross floor area of the new extension as 585 square metres.
