CROWDS came out along with the sunshine to help make Crossgates Gala Day a great success on Saturday.
Entertainment for all ages was on offer with a range of displays, rides, races and refreshments.
Gala committee joint treasurer, Sharon Cooper, said: "The rain stayed away and we did really, really well. We seem to have made quite a good amount for next year's already.
"The waltzers and the cocktail bar were so successful. It was something completely different for this year and we had so much feedback on these two things especially.
"The parade was great.
"All the dance groups and bands performed and we had races and tug of war as well."
Sharon is hoping other local residents will join them to ensure future events go as well as this year's gala.
"It certainly was worth all the hard work," she said.
"We have a few committee members who are stepping down and we only have seven of us this year so we now need to push that and see if we can get a few more people to help."
