THE popular free meal scheme Cafe Inc will return for the summer holidays.
The Fife Council initiative provides a free, midday meal for local children, young people and families.
Hot meals and cold packed lunches will be available at Benarty Primary School, Bowhill Centre, Cowdenbeath PS, Crossgates Community Centre, Hill of Beath Community Centre, Kelty Community Centre and Lochgelly Town Hall.
Lumphinnans Bowling Club will also have cold packed lunches on offer.
Booking is not required, but food is only available as stocks last and it is recommended that kids under the age of 10 are accompanied by an adult,
Local councillor Linda Erskine, strategic spokesperson for Communities and Leisure Services, said: "We provide free school meals during term time for over 9,000 pupils across Fife.
"But we know that there's a lot of pressure on all families during the school holidays, particularly with costs still continuing to rise."
Cllr Erskine added: "It's a very sad fact that during school holidays many children in Fife go hungry.
"We don't think this is acceptable and that's why Café Inc is open to all, it gives children and families a chance to meet up with friends and enjoy a bite to eat in some good company.
"I'd urge anyone to come along and enjoy a family lunch with some friendly chat and fun this summer."
