FALLING masonry triggered an emergency response in Lochgelly.
Fire crews were called to Main Street on Wednesday afternoon and the affected building has now been cordoned off.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson explained: "We were alerted at 4.36pm on Wednesday, 7 June to reports of falling masonry on Main Street, Lochgelly.
"Operations Control mobilised one appliance and a height vehicle to the scene to check the affected building and make it safe.
"There were no reported casualties."
Fife Council's service manager for building standards and public safety, Garry Nicoll, confirmed the council were also called out to the incident.
"Following assessment and in the interests of public safety, we have fenced off the area and we understand the buildings owners are reviewing the situation this morning," he said.
"The area will remain fenced off until work can be carried out to make the building safe."
