A STATE-of-the art IMAX screen is set to be launched at Dunfermline's Odeon cinema.

The "ultimate big screen luxury" is being promised when the new facility is launched in June.

An ODEON spokesperson said: “We are excited to confirm that we are opening a new IMAX screen at ODEON Dunfermline.

"At the new screen, guests will be able to kick-back and enjoy the world’s most innovative movie-going experience from the superior comfort of one of 150 ODEON Luxe recliner seats, with triple the legroom of a standard seat per guest – the ultimate big screen luxury.

"The refurbished screen is scheduled to open in June, and we can’t wait to welcome our guests to experience the heart-pounding audio and awe-inspiring images of an IMAX screen.”

Swindon Interiors have been awarded the contract to refurbish one of the cinema's screens into an IMAX facility.

A company statement said: "We are honoured to have been selected by Odeon Cinemas for this existing project, and are committed to delivering a world-class cinema experience for their customers.

"The IMAX screen will provide cinema-goers with an immersive viewing experience, showcasing the latest blockbuster movies in stunning clarity and sound. The screen will also feature advanced audio and visual technologies that will enhance the cinematic experience for all visitors.
